The custom designed three-stage heat exchanger (photo) will be used to increase temperature of a 25,000 std. ft3/min airflow from 50°F to 330°F using 145 psig steam. Each stage is nearly 7 ft tall and 8 ft wide. Heated air will be used to dry crumb rubber during processing. The design uses seven identical internal cores, each with two stacked steam circuits. — Xchanger Inc., Hopkins, Minn.
